Your object essay is due next class! Think about if you’d like to read yours aloud in class — I’ll ask for one volunteer to do this.

➤ Read (or look at) 《怀乡书》

If you haven’t yet—and if you can—read the excerpts from Sheng Keyi’s 《怀乡书》(“The Book of Homesickness”). If you can’t read them, just look at them.

Be ready to share one observation about these passages. What do you notice about them? (If you can’t read them, you can still do this!) How are the four passages similar? What patterns do you notice about them?
