Homework

➤ Rewrite interview summary

After you receive comments from me on your in-class writing, rewrite your interview summary. (By rewrite, I mean: Make it better.)

Your goal should be to convey all the key information you learned in your interview in a single, concisely written paragraph. Your classmates should be able to read this paragraph and understand clearly the most important information you learned from your interview. Please quote the interviewee once.

You might find the attached summary template from class and handout on reporting verbs useful when revising your summary.

Important: For this assignment, send me your assigment electronically, as a Word document (.docx files only, please). You can send it either by WeChat or email.

➤ Send me electronic copy of your transcript

Send me your transcript as a .docx file as well; WeChat or email is fine.

➤ Read Rubin (1975)

This is an article originally published in an academic journal. As you read, ask yourself: 1) Do you see any similarities between the strategies Rubin identifies and the strategies used by the language learner you interviewed? 2) Do you use these strategies? Be ready to share your answers next class.
