Once I’ve compared all 3 sections’ votes and all 12 groups’ topic preference sheets, I will announce which vision of the book we will go with.

I will then contact each group individually and let you know which topic area I think you should focus on. At this point, each individual group member should decide (at least tentatively) what specific question or angle you wish to write about for your own chapter.
